OK everybody, the reunion is still on after a hiccup in the original plans.  The Marriott we selected was not going to be finished in time as promised.  John Haig has closed the deal with another location in the area.  The new location is the Riverview Inn and Information will be posted soon on our website.  The contracts are being forwarded to Bill Janes for review and signing.  The one change that we were willing to live with at this late date is that the banquet will be moved from Saturday night to Friday night.  So, new info should be available on our web site, this venue and Ed McKee will also be putting out the new info to his minions.  Be sure and thank John Haig when you see him for getting this thing fixed very quickly at this late date.  Please check with our web site for the official info in order to avoid any misunderstanding that may arise from the rumor mill.  Thank you for your patience and I am sincerely hoping to see all of you in September.

During the 4 July week the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots VHPA held their annual in Atlanta this year.  I do not always go but since it was only ~3hr drive for me I went for the last two days.  There were approximately 1000 total people in attendance for this gathering  with only 3 members from the 191st attending although we have many more holding memberships to the VHPA.  As I moved around the area to check vendor offerings and a few paid and unpaid activities it was very easy to see that some things were definitely changing.  There were a lot more people using walkers and wheel chairs to get around.  There were mostly gray or bald heads everywhere except for those very few who never seem to age over the past 50 years (I just hate those people).  This was truly evident at the banquet Saturday night where all 1000 attendees were in the same room.  One of the speakers informed us that there were ~300 VHPA members that had passed away in the past 12 months since their last reunion.  Gentlemen, please take this as a wake up call.  We all have many more years behind us than we have in front of us.  Just imagine what that banquet hall in Atlanta will look like in a mere 10 to 20 years from now.  Each time you choose to pass up an opportunity to join us at a 191st reunion it could be your last one.  Please don't misunderstand me, I know that some of you just can't physically do this and others have overriding circumstances of there own.  I would like to remind all of you that we have had folks in the past who procrastinated for years, finally registered and paid to come to their first reunion and died before they got there.  Anybody remember Bob Stack?  I am totally looking forward to seeing all of you who have signed up to come and am sincerely hoping that more of you will take to heart the reality of where most of us are in life by coming to join us in September.

September 2, 2018 - The 191st Book is now complete, and published!

Good Morning Boomerangs, Bounty Hunters, Green Deltas et al.

I received good news from John Falcon, concerning the book he has written about the 191st history in Vietnam. According to John, the book is complete and has been published. He will have one hundred copies at the reunion for those interested in purchasing a book. The reduced price for unit members will be $13.34 per copy.

John plans to be in the 191st AHC Hospitality Room at the River View Inn at approximately 0900 hours on Thursday morning, September 13, 2018, for the convenience of those who wish to buy the book. Once he arrives, Roger Stickney, one of the Technical Assistants during the writing process, will also be there. Reviewed by several military experts and authors, the novel has received enthusiastic acclaim.

Anyone wishing to communicate with John can reach him by email at jfalcon@teamsmed.com . After nine years of hard work putting this book together, I personally extend my thanks to John for his effort.

 Best regards,
Harold Stitt
